Sometimes is an artist book that visually and texturally explores a cycle of emotion from fragility, to chaos, to calm. The images were made using a freshly cut pomegranate and its juice to stamp images. Pomegranates have long been used to reference spirituality and womanhood, so both the ink and the stamp that created the images add another layer of meaning to the book. The prints were originally made on watercolor paper and then scanned and printed onto rice paper. Like the world around us, the rice paper with its winding fibers might sometimes appear to be still, but even then you can feel it moving.
